PTA advocacy makes a difference by providing a collective voice for parents, families, and communities to advocate for the needs of children and schools. PTAs can influence policies, advocate for resources, and support student well-being at the local, state, and national levels. They also play a crucial role in ensuring that family engagement is prioritized in education, impacting policies and funding for family-related initiatives.

On May 1, 2025, the State is planning to require School-Based Health Centers (SBHCs) to be moved into Medicaid Managed Care (MMC) for how they receive Medicaid payments. Please help us to continue to urge state lawmakers and Governor Hochul to stop this carve-in through the final budget before it significantly disrupts care for vulnerable children.
